Ukrainian troops have liberated 179 settlements on the area of over 4,500 sq km from Russians over the week, the Operational Command South has said.
The defence forces are carrying out stabilization measures, including demining, in the liberated settlements and territories of Mykolayiv and Kherson regions.
Russians do not stop shelling the positions of the Ukrainian army, as well as the territorial communities adjacent to the contact line. In addition, they are conducting aerial reconnaissance.
Critical and civilian infrastructure, as well as territories of the rear regions are under Russian fire.
As reported earlier, Ukrainian marines raised the village of Lvove, Beryslav District, Kherson Region.
Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine recommends that Ukrainians who want to return to their deoccupied hometowns should wait for permission from local authorities and until bomb experts check these areas.
