Part of the main high-voltage networks and equipment was damaged as a result of Russian strikes on energy facilities in Odesa, the national energy company Ukrenergo has said on Facebook.
"Tonight the enemy struck energy facilities in Odesa Region again. Some of the main high-voltage networks and equipment were damaged, resulting in power outages in Odesa and the region," it said.
The company notes that the situation in the region is very difficult. Repair crews are working to supply power to critical infrastructure facilities: hospitals, water utilities, sewage treatment plants. But the restoration of power supply to household consumers may take longer due to the large amount of damage.
The presidential office stated that the restoration work in Odesa after the attack of Russian drones would take more time than usual.
Due to the night drone attack on Odesa Region, significant destruction of energy facilities occurred, leaving thousands of consumers without electricity.
In addition, DTEK reported that all consumers except critical infrastructure were cut off from electricity in Odesa.
