Ukraine's power grid remains in a significant power deficit after devastating Russian attacks, Ukrenergo reported.
The company recalled that over the past week, the power system suffered three Russian attacks. These were a massive missile attack on 5 December and two local attacks with artillery and drones in the south and east of the country over the weekend.
"The destruction caused by the enemy to the power system does not allow to fully use the capacities of thermal power plants. Additional time is needed to restore their operation," Ukrenergo said.
The situation in Odesa Region remains challenging as the restoration of power supply to consumers is ongoing here. Due to the complexity of the damage, the work takes longer, it is also aggravated by the bad weather, Ukrenergo said.
In order to balance the power system, each regional power distributor has been given consumption limits.
