Due to the prolonged lack of electricity, the National Police have decided to increase the number of patrols in the streets.

In particular, the patrols involve cadets of higher educational institutions of the Interior Ministry, who are on internships in police units, as well as representatives of volunteer groups of local communities.

Law enforcers have also strengthened their presence in the de-occupied territories where they carry out stabilization measures.

"First of all, the patrols are deployed close to social and critical infrastructure facilities, as well as to the points of invincibility set up in the state. In addition, our officers are on duty and regulate traffic at all major intersections, using loudspeakers to announce or call off air alerts," National Police chief Ihor Klymenko said.

He added that the police had developed algorithms so that Ukrainians know how to act in the situation of prolonged absence of heating, electricity or communication.
