Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called on the EU to promptly increase military assistance to Ukraine.

He said this at a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, the Foreign Ministry press service reported.

Kuleba suggested three ways of strengthening support:

- providing more weapons and ammunition;

- expanding the European Peace Fund to finance the purchase of weapons;

- rapidly arranging lines, in particular with the participation of Ukrainian enterprises, for the manufacture of ammunition.

"Among the highest priority needs are air and missile defence systems, armoured vehicles, including tracked vehicles, 155-mm artillery and ammunition, and, of course, NATO-standard tanks," Kuleba said.

He noted that Ukraine's recent successes in liberating territories in the east and south should not serve as a reassurance for partners, as Russia continues to send mobilized soldiers to the frontline, and Ukraine is forming new units that need to be manned.

Kuleba said that Ukraine needs help now - until January.

"Ukraine is able to end this war with a victory and a just peace as soon as possible and will do it provided there is a significant increase in support from the EU. That is why I urge you to significantly increase military assistance to Ukraine," the minister said.
