The World Bank plans to provide Ukraine with another $1.7 billion by the end of 2022. As of 8 December, the country received $13 billion of the $17.8 billion that was mobilized, World Bank Vice President Anna Bjerde said in an interview with Ukrinform.

"The rest of the funds will be allocated early next year," she said.

Overall, more than 50 percent of all economic assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the war has gone through the World Bank.

According to Bjerde, the World Bank is now collaborating with the government to urgently repair critical infrastructure damaged and destroyed by Russian shelling.

Several financing packages are being finalized to help the government meet its needs in the energy, transport and health sectors.

"These projects are scalable and will be able to attract more funding as it becomes available, and they are designed for rapid disbursement. As winter approaches, we will continue to mobilize our own funds and those of our donor partners to help ensure the continuity of essential services," said the Bank's Vice President.

On 23 November, following a series of Russian attacks on infrastructure, the World Bank mobilized an additional $4.5 billion to support Ukraine. The funding will cover Ukraine's needs during the winter period.
