The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said during a briefing in the Ukraine Media Centre that the Russian military kept children in torture chambers in Kherson.
"There are children's torture chambers in the occupied territories. I thought it was impossible to hit a new low after Bucha, Irpin. I saw 2 torture chambers in Balakliya, one boy was kept there for 90 days, and they would take him out for execution. There are 10 torture chambers in Kherson, one of them has a separate cell where children were kept," said Lubinets.
According to him, children in the torture chambers were not fed, they had water every other day and were told that their parents had abandoned them.
"There was one detained boy who took pictures of Russian equipment with his phone - they kept him in a torture chamber," the Ombudsman noted.
So far, the National Police has opened more than 48 thousand proceedings on crimes of the Russian military.
