The Italian government is considering the possibility of transferring air defense systems to Ukraine to protect the sky, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Telegram following a conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
In addition to the air defenсe issue, they also discussed the Ukrainian "peace formula", around which Kyiv wants to hold a summit at the UN with the participation of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
"I expressed gratitude to Giorgia Meloni for solidarity and comprehensive support for Ukraine. Welcomed the allocation of additional 10m euros of assistance by the Italian government," Zelenskyy said.
According to earlier reports, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni intends to visit Ukraine early next year.
Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said that Italy would supply weapons to Ukraine until peace talks with Russia begin.
