President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defenсe Council of 23 December "On conducting a review of public security and civil protection".
The decision stipulates that the government should oversee the development of the Strategy of Public Security and Civil Protection of Ukraine based on the results of the review and its submission to the NSDC for approval and further endorsement by a decree of the President of Ukraine.
After that, the Interior Ministry should oversee the development of sectoral strategies, state target programmes in the areas of public security, protection and defence of the state border of Ukraine, civil protection and migration policy, as well as operational plans and plans for the use of forces and means in crisis situations.
