Due to power outages in the last months of 2022, farmers began to use generators. This will lead to a slight increase in the cost of food, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyy said during a telethon.

According to him, the price increase will be about 3-5%.

The Deputy Minister added that power outages can be critical for some producers. Therefore, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is considering the possibility of providing such enterprises with generators.

"The Ministry is also currently accepting applications, in particular, from livestock farms to put them on the list of critical infrastructure. It is very important for us to make sure that all production cycles have power," Vysotskyy said.

He added that there was no significant decrease in production over the past few months.

Earlier it was reported that industrial consumers, who import electricity from the EU, would not have electricity cuts.
