Mobilisation in Russia is a large-scale and serious challenge for Ukraine, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar has said, Liga reports.
According to her, the mobilised are an important resource for Russia as thus it can afford to neglect the lives of its personnel. She pointed out that the Russians use barrier detachments that prevent any retreat.
Malyar also said that Russia is increasingly resorting to the practice of using private armies as regular troops have a low level of motivation.
"For the most part, they do not understand what they have to die for. They are aware of how the Russian authorities treat them. The mercenaries are fighting for money. Large-scale mobilisation there is a serious challenge, which indicates that they are going to fight for a long time," she said.
In early January 2023, the Russian leadership may impose martial law and announce a new wave of mobilisation, according to Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.
