According to the results of 2022, exports of goods from Ukraine decreased in money by 35% to $ 44.1 billion, in weight - by 38.4% to 99.8 million tons, Deputy Economy Minister Taras Kachka reported on Facebook.

"Under normal circumstances, the trade figures might seem catastrophic. However, in the conditions of war, it is a feat: to export almost 100 million tons of products under the blockade of ports and constant attacks on infrastructure. This is the first year when the volume of exports and logistics came to the fore," said Taras Kachka.

According to the report, the main export commodity of Ukraine was corn - 24.99 million tons for $ 5.94 billion (+1%).

  • sunflower oil - 4.29 million tons for 5.46 billion dollars (-14.4%)
  • iron ore - 23.9 million tons for 2.9 billion dollars (-57.8%)
  • wheat - 11.2 million tons for 2.6 billion dollars (-44.7%)
  • rapeseed - 3.12 million tons for 1.54 billion dollars (-8.6%)
  • insulated wires - 65,900 tons for 1.32 billion dollars (-16.4%)
  • sunflower seeds - 2.7 million tons for 1.26 billion dollars (+ 3200%)
  • semi-finished steel products - 1.9 million tons for 1.1 billion dollars
  • hot-rolled steel - 1.3 million tons for 1 billion dollars
  • soybeans - 1.99 million tons for 862 million dollars (+42%)
  • poultry meat - 413 000 tons for 852 million dollars (+19%)

63% of exports were to the European Union - $ 27.9 billion (Poland - $ 6.6 billion, Romania - $ 3.8 billion, Hungary - $ 2.27 billion, Germany - $ 2.23 billion, Italy - $ 1.5 billion, Spain - $ 1.5 billion).

The largest export market outside the EU was Turkey ($2.9 billion), ahead of China ($2.46 billion).

Imports of goods to Ukraine in 2022 decreased in money by 19.6% to $ 58 billion, in physical volumes - by 48.1% to 35 million tons.
