The Air Force has confirmed that Russia used S-400 anti-aircraft missiles to fire on Kyiv on 14 January. The missiles were launched from Russia's Bryansk Region, the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, has said on the air of TV.
Ihnat noted that Russia had fired more than 10 such anti-aircraft missiles on Kyiv and the region.
"The entire frontline zone has been under the attack of these missiles for six months. Nothing has changed. Only the direction from which they first did it has changed - Bryansk Region. And from quite a long range. S-400 can hit at more than 200 km. We must understand that there is a threat from there, so we must take certain countermeasures. The enemy has few options where to deploy them. I will not say what should be done there, but steps are already being taken in this regard," Ihnat said.
During the attack on 14 January, Russia hit Kyiv with converted anti-aircraft missiles. It was the first such attack for Kyiv.
