Ukraine and its partners have decided on the location of the Bayraktar drone service centre, the press service of the Defence Ministry has said on Telegram.

"We recently held a series of meetings with investors and all stakeholders, during which we agreed on the location of the centre and developed a draft roadmap for the transfer of land for use and settlement of issues related to the further joint use of the airfield," said Col Borys Zakutnyy, head of the Main Department of Defence Land and Funds at the Ministry of Defence.

He also said that in 2022, the Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the State Land Cadastre, the Office of Countering Raiding under the Ministry of Justice and the military prosecutor's office, removed obstacles to the use of defence land with a total area of more than 6,000 hectares.

Among the returned plots is a land plot of an active aviation training ground designed to provide tactical training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The reclaimed territory is the fundamental basis for training our pilots who protect Ukraine's airspace," Zakutnyy said.

The Cabinet of Ministers expects the Bayraktar UAV manufacturing plant in Ukraine to launch and start production in 2025. The planned investment in the construction of the plant and a centre for UAV repair and modernization services will amount to $95.5m over 10 years.
