Based on the materials of the Bureau of Economic Security (ESBU) and the Security Service, 11,800 tons of mineral fertilizers made in Russia and Belarus worth almost UAH 100 million were seized, the ESBU reports.

The fertilizers belong to foreign companies Uralkaliy and Belaruskaliy and were found in 170 railcars that were stored at the premises of the Mykolayiv Specialized Sea Port, a business structure of the sanctioned Russian oligarch Dmitriy Firtash.

It has now been established that the railcars with fertilizers were brought to Ukraine before the start of Russia's full-scale invasion and were in transit.

The detectives also found that the sale of fertilizers took place in Ukraine with no proper tax reporting and tax payments. This resulted in the actual shortfall of funds to the budget in the amount of over UAH 10 million. The owners of the cargo also planned to transport it to third countries.

The goods have now been confiscated. The seized property will be transferred to the management of the National Agency for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).
