The UK is preparing to send its fighter jets to the countries on NATO's eastern flank so that they can supply their Soviet-era aircraft to Ukraine, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has said, according to The Guardian.
“The other quick way that Ukraine can benefit from fighter jets is for those countries in Europe that have Russian Soviet fighter jets – MiG 29s or Su-24s – if they wish to donate we can use our fighter jets to backfill and provide security for them as a result,” he said on Times Radio.
Wallace explained that NATO countries are already trained to operate modern fighter jets, while Ukraine is not.
Recently, the Office of the President reported that the United Kingdom could be the first to unblock the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine.
