Spain will allocate 4.4 million euros to the Grain from Ukraine initiative together with the World Food Programme, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced at a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"I supported President Zelenskyy's Grain from Ukraine initiative to help those in need. We welcome our contribution of 4.4 million euros, which Spain will provide together with the World Food Programme," Sanchez said.
He noted that with the upcoming EU presidency in the second half of this year, Spain is ready to support and accompany Ukraine in the process of realizing its legitimate aspirations to become an EU member.
Earlier, Sanchez said that the Ukrainian military is currently undergoing training in Spain on Leopard tanks.
