This is the first visit of the Saudi foreign minister to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

At a meeting with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked him for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"I met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud," Zelenskyy said on Facebook.

He noted that this is the first official visit of the Saudi foreign minister to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

"I hope that it will give a new impetus to further intensify our mutually beneficial dialogue. Thank you for supporting peace in Ukraine, our sovereignty and territorial integrity! This is very important for us and our society," Zelenskyy said.

Presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak provided details of the talks.

"During the visit, two documents were signed in the president's office that formalized the provision of a $400m aid package to Ukraine: $100m in humanitarian aid and $300m in oil products. In particular, we are talking about the Joint Programme of Cooperation with the King Salman Centre for Humanitarian Aid and Relief and the Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Fund for Development," Yermak said.
