The European Union has adopted the 10th package of sanctions against Russia, EU High Representative Josep Borrell has said.
"The 10th sanctions package is adopted: 121 individuals and entities listed, significant new import/export restrictions, banning Russian propaganda outlets," he tweeted. "We remain united in our determination to dent Russia's war machine."
In turn, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the adoption of the 10th package of sanctions.
"I welcome the formal adoption of our 10th sanctions package against Russia. We now have the most far-reaching sanctions ever - depleting Russia's war arsenal and biting deep into its economy. We are also turning up the pressure on those trying to circumvent our sanctions," Ursula von der Leyen tweeted.
The Commission welcomed the Council's adoption of a 10th package of sanctions against Russia and those that support it in its illegal aggression against Ukraine.
"This package is turning up the pressure in response to Putin's brutal war, including viciously targeting civilians and critical infrastructure. In order to further increase the effectiveness of EU sanctions, today's package contains new listings plus trade and financial sanctions, including further export bans worth more than €11 billion, depriving the Russian economy of critical tech and industrial goods. It also steps up enforcement and anti-circumvention measures, including a new reporting obligation on Russian Central Bank assets," it said.
