President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff on 10 March.
Zelenskyy said in his evening video address that the discussion included the possibility of strengthening positions in Bakhmut.
"The Commander-in-Chief and the sector commanders reported on the situation on the front line situation and on the defence of the state in general. East and south, the border. Bakhmut and our ability to reinforce ourselves there," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, the participants of the meeting also discussed responses to Russian terrorists' attacks. They discussed the defenсe of Kherson and the communities of Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions and the need of the army in ammunition.
A day before, the commander of the Ground Troops, Col-Gen Oleksandr Syrskyy, said that the importance of holding Bakhmut is constantly growing, as each day gives Ukrainian troops time to train reserves and prepare for an offensive.
