Russian troops have reduced their activity in the Donetsk area due to significant losses and a lack of ammunition, said Colonel Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyy, head of the joint press centre of the Tavriya area defence forces, during a national TV marathon.
"The enemy is actually running out of steam. Compared to the last week, in the Avdiyivka-Maryinka area, the enemy has significantly reduced the number of assault actions and the number of shelling. If it was measured in hundreds per day and about 600 shelling attacks, today it is somewhat less," he noted.
According to Dmytrashkivskyy, up to 30 assault operations take place per day. At night - from two to nine. The number of shelling attacks reaches 200-250 per day and 100-120 per night.
He noted that Russians had recently suffered significant losses and were experiencing "artillery starvation". To continue the offensive, the enemy needs time to recover.
"There are many talks about the lack of ammunition, 'artillery hunger', for the Russians have been set a limit they cannot exceed. If they do, they are left without ammunition the next day. And this is not only a problem for Prigozhin, who says he is not given ammunition, it is a general problem in the Russian army," Dmitrashkivskyy said.
According to the General Staff, the enemy continues offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarsk areas. Over the past day, the Defence Forces repelled more than 100 enemy attacks in those sectors.
