The current Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine, Oleksandr Polishchuk, may be appointed ambassador to India. Negotiations are underway with New Delhi to agree on the candidacy of Polishchuk, but according to LB.ua, the authorities support his appointment.

From 2004 to 2007, Polishchuk served as Deputy Military Representative of the Ukrainian Mission to NATO. From 2014 to 2017, he held senior positions in the National Security and Defence Council, and from 2020 to 2022, he was a delegate from Ukraine to the Trilateral Contact Group on the Minsk Agreements.

At the same time, the issue of appointing Pavlo Ryabikin, the current Minister for Strategic Industries, as ambassador to China has not yet been resolved. According to sources, the decision to approve his candidacy has been put on hold by the Presidential Office. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet received a response from the Presidential Office to its request for Ryabikin's appointment.

"The Office has several scenarios as to how China might behave. They are waiting to see what line of behaviour Beijing will choose and what further negotiations with the Chinese side will be like," sources close to the Office told LB.ua.

As reported, China has recently offered Ukraine a so-called peace initiative, which has caused outrage in Washington. Now, Chinese President Xi Jinping is planning to travel to Moscow for talks with Putin, and then he may get in touch with President Zelenskyy. These talks will likely determine whether someone will be appointed ambassador to China.

LB.ua keeps searching for information about the new Ukrainian ambassador to Brazil. We will provide you with the details as soon as possible.

The issue with Kazakhstan is almost resolved: the Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Hayday, has resigned. LB.ua's sources said that this resignation is caused by his appointment as ambassador to Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is expected to approve Hayday's appointment as ambassador after the early parliamentary elections scheduled for 19 March.
