Ground Troops Commander Col-Gen Oleksandr Syrskyy has described the situation in Bakhmut, Kupyansk and Lyman sectors.
He noted on Telegram that the Russians continue to try to surround Bakhmut and advance without success.
"There, the soldiers of the 93rd Brigade, together with other defenders, are holding back the enemy's fierce pressure. Thanks to their work, enemy tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, MLRS and ammunition depots are being blown up," said Syrskyy.
According to him, the Russians are also pressing in the Kupyansk and Lyman sectors.
"The soldiers of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Ivan Sirko have adequately punched the enemy in the teeth by destroying radar systems, MLRS and command posts of the aggressor. Such decisive actions of our army significantly deplete and demoralize the enemy and accelerate our victory," said Syrskyy.
On 15 March, Ukrainian defenders shot down a Russian aircraft near Bakhmut.
The day before, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar said that Ukrainian defenders were killing Russians in large numbers in the city.
