U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin said at the beginning of the Ramstein meeting that nine countries had pledged to provide Ukraine with 150 Leopard tanks.
"In the last three months alone, the members of this Contact Group have demonstrated remarkable leadership in building the capabilities Ukraine needs to defend its sovereignty and establish a lead on the battlefield, including more than nine brigades of tanks and other armoured vehicles. The coalition of countries providing Leopard tanks to Ukraine continues to grow. And nine countries have now committed to provide more than 150 Leopard tanks," he said.
According to him, now is a "decisive moment" in Ukraine's struggle.
"We must ensure that Ukraine has all the capabilities for the future fight, including spare parts and maintenance packages to support the critical capabilities provided by the members of this Contact Group," the Defence Minister added.
