As of 22 March, there are about ten children in Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, said during a telethon.
"There are no big problems (with the forced evacuation from Bakhmut - ed.). The shelling is very heavy there, and people are leaving, particularly those with children. We have about ten children left there," she said.
Vereshchuk added that the authorities are doing everything to ensure that these children are evacuated as well.
On 7 March, the Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories stated that there were under 4,000 civilians remaining in Bakhmut, including at least 38 children.
