Eight people were killed and seven more injured when Russia attacked the town of Rzhyshchev in Kyiv Region, hitting a school building and a dormitory at night, the State Emergency Service said in its evening update.
One person was rescued.
The upper houses of the building were damaged and caught fire.
Some 116 rescuers and 27 items of equipment were involved in rescue efforts.
Russia launched 21 Shahed drones to attack Ukraine at night, 16 of them were shot down. The drones also caused damage in Zhytomyr Region.
