The Russian military is trying to organize provocations on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has said.

It published a new intercepted phone conversation between two Russian soldiers.

In the recording, a Russian soldier who is "touring" along the Ukrainian border tells his friend about provocations.

"...We are in a certain city (in Belarus - Ed.). They are also stirring things up here... They go to stage provocations, all sorts of bullshit... In short, they are provoking the khokhols [derogatory for Ukrainians] from this side to attack Belarus... Well, to get them to join in, I guess. There are about a thousand and a half of us here," the man can be heard saying.

Another Russian is currently fighting in the Donetsk sector and is waiting for his interlocutor's unit to be sent there to help. However, the latter denies it: "...we are moving from place to place again. Every day we move! We have already been all over Belarus. We were in one city, now we have moved to the border with Poland. Near Poland."

The SBU emphasized that such actions indicate that Russia does not stop trying to involve Belarus directly in the war against Ukraine and uses any means to make it happen.
