Russia has sufficient stockpiles of guided bombs and is currently using about 20 a day in strikes against Ukraine, the spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, has said, Radio Liberty reports.

"Unfortunately, there are enough bombs. Not only 500 kg, there is already information, although it has not yet been confirmed, that 250 kg bombs will also be used. They will be equipped with GPS modules and wings, which will allow them to glide and strike remotely. These are old Soviet bombs, of which we and the enemy have plenty in our warehouses. Therefore, they will be looking for any methods and ways to step up the use of these bombs," Ihnat said.

According to him, such guided bombs can fly up to 70 kilometres.

"The aircraft that launches them is not within the range of our air defence systems, they know this very well, and they can launch them with impunity today and return to their base. They have not only 500-kg bombs, but also 1,500-kg bombs, and we have already found their remains on the territory controlled by our state. This is a serious threat, along with the challenges we face today, and we need to respond with long-range air defence systems," Ihnat said.

On 3 May, Russian aircraft attacked the village of Kizomys in the Bilozerka community, Kherson Region. Russia fired three guided aerial bombs on the village.
