On 29 May, Russia launched two massive missile and air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on the evening of the 460th day of the large-scale Russian invasion.

During the night, Russia used Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles and Iranian Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs. According to updated information, the forces and means of the air commands, in cooperation with the air defence of other components of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, destroyed 36 of 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 30 of 38 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs.

In the afternoon, Russia used cruise and ballistic missiles from the Iskander tactical missile system against civilian and critical infrastructure in Kyiv. The Air Force of Ukraine destroyed 11 out of 11 missiles.

In total, Russia carried out 53 air strikes and fired about 20 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas over the last day. Unfortunately, there were casualties among the civilian population, private houses, other civilian and administrative infrastructure were damaged. The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

Russia continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Over the last day, the defence forces repelled 20 enemy attacks.
