At its meeting on 29 May, the Ukrainian parliament adopted draft law No. 9107-1, which will allow the NBU to nationalise banks owned by sanctioned owners, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, has said on Telegram.

"Finally, parliament approved in the second reading draft law No. 9107-1 on amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on improving the procedure for withdrawing a bank from the market under martial law," the MP wrote.

He also stressed that the draft law allows the NBU to nationalise banks of sanctioned owners, but only systemic banks.

The draft law was supported by 305 MPs.
