Ukrainian forces are advancing in the area of Bakhmut and in several other areas in Donetsk Region, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar told the telethon on Tuesday, 6 June.
"Indeed, we are currently conducting a defensive and offensive operation. We have a set of measures, and I emphasise once again: do not focus solely on offensive actions. This is a range of different actions, including offensive ones. Today we are also making progress. We are talking about the flanks around Bakhmut and other areas, which we will be able to talk about in more detail later. Our troops are making progress there," said Malyar.
According to her, the fighting is fierce as the Russians are doing their best to prevent the advance of Ukrainian forces.
When asked about the specific areas in which Ukrainian troops have advanced, Malyar said that she was referring to Donetsk Region.
