Ukraine received 1.5bn dollars in guarantees from Japan through the World Bank, reports the Ukrainian Finance Ministry.
"The state budget of Ukraine received 1.5bn US dollars in concessional financing. The loan funds are provided under the guarantee of the Government of Japan through the mechanism of the World Bank’s Trust Fund," the message states.
The involved financing will be aimed at recovering the economy and strengthen the social protection of Ukrainians.
This year, the Government of Japan is expected to provide another USD 2 billion in direct budget support through the World Bank Trust Fund.
Japan will provide $5mn to Ukraine in order to overcome the consequences of the Russians undermining the Kakhovska HPP. The money will be distributed through international organisations.
