On 26 July, Kyiv hosted a presentation of the New Country project, a collaborative effort by LB.ua and EFI Group, addressing various aspects of rebuilding Ukraine after the Victory, from restoring human potential to fostering innovative economic projects.
The highlight of the event was the panel discussion called "A New Country – a New Future", featuring the following participants:
- Andriy Pyshnyy, NBU Governor
- Rostyslav Shurma, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office
- Roman Vashchuk, Business Ombudsman of Ukraine
- Igor Liski, EFI Group
- Valeriy Pekar, lecturer at Kyiv-Mohyla Business School
- Yevhen Hlibovytskyy, founder of Pro.mova, member of the Nestor Group
Moderated by Sonya Koshkina, the editor-in-chief of LB.ua, the panellists delved into a wide array of topics during the discussion, such as:
- Ways to restore and harness the human potential after the Victory, to encourage people to return and actively involve them in shaping the new economic profile of cities, thereby capitalizing on opportunities
- Key priority sectors for post-war Ukraine's economic development. What can the state and business do now to lay the favourable groundwork for this?
- Main economic and social risks that may arise while building a new country and ways to avoid them
- The vision of a new social contract
- Ways to revive the distinct Ukrainian identity in regions that have endured prolonged occupation, with a particular focus on Donbas.
