Russia plans to spend 1.3bn roubles to arrange landfills in the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, the National Resistance Centre has said.

This is provided for in the Russian government resolution on subsidising the procurement and supply of specialised equipment.

"In fact, the occupiers want to turn the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories into a landfill for Russian garbage. They plan to take waste from the territory of the Russian Federation there," the National Resistance Centre noted.

The declared funds are officially to be spent on garbage containers and special equipment. In fact, they will use machinery and equipment stolen from Ukrainian utility companies.

"And the money will be laundered through shell companies personally controlled by Russian Prime Minister Mishustin. The Russians do not care about the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories and where the garbage will be taken," it added.
