The head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Andriy Yermak said that in Saudi Arabia the participants of the summit formed a common vision for each of the 10 points of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula.
"In Saudi Arabia, we formed our joint vision for each of the ten points of President Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula. “Joint vision” because in the process of long-term consultations at different levels, this vision reflected the positions of the majority of countries participating in the implementation of the peace initiative of Ukraine," Yermak said.
He noted that the Peace Formula is built on the key principles of the UN Charter and international law, as well as on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within their internationally recognised borders. Each of the 10 points of the Formula corresponds to these principles. And those were unanimously identified by the participants of the meeting of national security advisers.
The sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine is the basis of the Formula. The implementation of the Peace Formula is the restoration of respect for the UN Charter and international law, which was destroyed by the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Yermak noted that the next steps are as follows: we will continue our work in order to directly work out the agenda, so the documents, conclusions, and agreements we need for the implementation of each of the ten points of the Formula. Another meeting of the ambassadors of the participating countries will be held soon to coordinate further actions. Practical steps for the implementation of each point of the Peace Formula will be worked out; alongside the preparation of the agenda for the founding Global Peace Summit will continue.
Yermak discussed the Ukrainian peace formula with the heads of more than 30 delegations in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the deputy head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva said that at the summit in Jeddah responsibility will be shared between the countries for co-organization or co-leadership in this or that point of the Ukrainian peace formula.
After the summit in Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China told Lavrov about their "impartiality" about the war in Ukraine. At the same time, he noted that China and the Russian Federation are "true and reliable friends and partners", and he traditionally called the war a "crisis" for Beijing.
