Ukraine will launch mass production of drones by the end of the year, Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has said at a press conference, LB.ua reports.
"Last autumn, we simplified the commissioning and authorisation for the supply of weapons by Resolution 345. If everything is moving correctly from the manufacturer, has been tested, and the military has said 'okay', it takes from three weeks to a month," he said.
The minister recalled that the government has adopted additional resolutions to simplify the import of components for the production of drones and allow for a profit margin of up to 25%.
"This has launched the programme. By autumn, we will get the result of this booster - mass production of drones. It will be made by Ukrainian manufacturers. Today, about 30 products of various drone manufacturers have already been approved for operation. Of these, 10 are small attack drones. What we have now is not a matter of quality but of quantity. And I believe that this number will grow critically by the end of the year. In a good sense, it will grow critically."
He also announced a change to Resolution No. 345 to simplify the operation of not only "finished products, but also structural elements, which now takes two years. So now we have sent it for approval. It is likely to be voted the next day, so to say. It will allow Ukrainian producers to make barrels for guns and tanks separately. It will also give our producers a booster."
