Ukraine is now establishing cooperation with the countries of the Global South, which it has not done for the past 30 years, the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, has said at a meeting with journalists.
"We work with everyone... We had a good meeting with the president of Chile. Today we are correcting what we have not done for 30 years... But it has to be done very quickly. Unfortunately, no one has asked why an independent country, which is really powerful and so on, has not thought for 30 years about how to represent itself in Africa, Latin America, Asia," he said.
Yermak added that "a lot of things are not done publicly" because a number of states have "a very long history of interaction with the Soviet Union".
"Someone has some reservations. Someone does not want others to know," he said.
