Chernihiv, the Chernihiv gas distribution company, has been transferred under the control of Naftogaz Group, the latter has announced in a statement.
Chernihivgaz became the 18th enterprise to come under state control.
The company supplies gas to nearly 360,000 households. The company also regulates the distribution of natural gas to budget-sustained and religious organisations, industrial facilities, and 12 district heating companies in the region.
Customers' personal accounts, as well as tariffs for distribution services, remain unchanged, Naftogaz said.
As reported earlier, another one of embattled tycoon Dmytro Firtash's regional gas companies, Volyngaz, has recently come under state control.
This summer, the Security Service of Ukraine documented the criminal activities of the board chairmen of Volyngaz, Kryvorizhgaz and Chernihivgaz, who were involved in the theft of natural gas from the Ukrainian gas transport system, the so-called Firtash regional gas companies scheme.
