Denmark is sending another military aid package to Ukraine worth more than half a billion dollars, according to the website of the Danish Ministry of Defence.
The next aid package includes T-72EA tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, artillery ammunition, drones, small arms and armoured repair and recovery vehicles. The supply of the latter is financed jointly with Germany.
"This is equipment and ammunition that are in demand in Ukraine and are crucial for maintaining the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," it said.
Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen noted that the aid package was formed after a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov.
"I met my Ukrainian counterpart in Kyiv on Tuesday and received an update partly on the situation in Ukraine and partly on Ukraine's needs in the fight against the Russian invasion. It was on the basis of the ongoing negotiations with the Ukrainians that the 13th and comprehensive Danish donation package was drawn up," he said.
The day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Troels Lund Poulsen discussed the supply of fighter jets and air defence systems to Ukraine. They discussed cooperation within the aviation coalition and the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft, which Denmark and partners are preparing to transfer to Ukraine.
