President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak had a telephone conversation to discuss, among other things, the strengthening of Ukraine's air defence and the functioning of the grain corridor.

Zelenskyy thanked the UK for the timely and comprehensive assistance, in particular for the recent £100 million defence support package.

The parties discussed the situation at the frontline in detail.

"Russia will continue to try to occupy the entire Donbas. The occupiers made several attempts to surround Avdiyivka, but each time our soldiers stopped them and pushed them back, causing painful losses. In these attempts, the enemy lost at least a brigade," Zelenskyy said.

The parties discussed further defence cooperation, in particular, the strengthening of the Ukrainian air defence system with missiles and anti-drone weapons.

Zelenskyy informed Rishi Sunak of the situation in the Black Sea and Russia's actions that pose a threat to civil navigation.

According to the Ukrainian president, despite all the threats, the grain corridor will continue to function. The parties discussed further work on the introduction of insurance for civil vessels.

The leaders also shared their assessments of the situation in the Middle East and agreed that it would be in the interests of the international community to stop the escalation of the conflict.

The two sides also coordinated their positions on cooperation in international platforms and maintaining international support for Ukraine.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently announced the transfer of air defence systems and demining equipment from the UK. The aid will be delivered in the coming months.

Ukraine has also recently denied reports about the suspension of the grain corridor: there are 23 vessels at the ports. The ports of Greater Odesa continue to handle vessels that have sailed through the corridor.
