The head of the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU), Natalya Husak, is suspected of malpractice with losses of more than UAH 2 million, the Prosecutor-General's Office has said.

According to the investigation, in April 2022, one of the specialised state-owned enterprises carried out work on the administration of the central database of the electronic healthcare system at the request of the National Health Service of Ukraine.

Afterwards, the state-owned enterprise produced a service acceptance certificate, which included all the works under the contract and information about a certain amount of work that was not actually performed.

Husak did not properly check the actual work performed and did not take measures to revise the total amount paid under the contract accordingly.

As a result, budget funds in the amount of over UAH 2 million were paid for services that were not provided.

During the searches of the suspects' residences and workplaces, law-enforcement officers found and seized documents and other material evidence.

A measure of pre-trial restraint is currently being considered.
