The German concern Rheinmetall has announced that it has received an order from the Ukrainian government to supply 25 Leopard 1A5 tanks next year.
Funding is provided by the German federal government.
Rheinmetall will also provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with five Bergepanzer 2 recovery vehicles and two driving school tanks.
The order is worth more than double-digit million euros and includes training, logistics, spare parts, repairs and other support services.
The concern also announced that it has a contract to supply 80 Marder armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine. Most of them are already in use and have proven themselves worthy.
Another 20 Marder APCs can be delivered as soon as the order is received.
Rheinmetall will also deliver 14 Leopard 2A4s to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2024 on behalf of the governments of the Netherlands and Denmark.
There are also many other services, including concerning ammunition, drones or medical equipment.
In its latest aid package, Germany is providing Ukraine with 10 Leopard 1 tanks and other military equipment. Ukraine will also receive tracked all-terrain vehicles and one demining tank.
