Ukrainian law enforcement officers have served a new suspicion on former Party of Regions MP Oleh Tsaryov of financing the Russian Guard, Prosecutor General's Office reports.
He is accused of financing actions taken to change the boundaries of the territory and state border of Ukraine in violation of the procedure established by the Constitution of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the former member of the Party of Regions, which is banned in Ukraine, moved to Russia in 2014. Today, he actively cooperates with the military and political leadership of the aggressor state to damage Ukraine's defence capabilities. He uses his contacts and connections in the country to gather information.
The investigation has so far obtained evidence of the suspect's financing of the armed formations of the occupation authorities in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The former MP owned real estate and a number of businesses there. After the annexation, he registered them under Russian law and hired the Russian Guard to provide security.
The facts of money transfers for the protection of the museum-estate and sanatorium in Yalta, which belong to him, were established. They were transferred to the accounts of the "federal state unitary enterprise 'Okhrana' of the federal service of the Russian National Guard".
In fact, the suspect is financing the occupation forces of the aggressor state in Ukrainian Crimea.
The former MP was already served a notice of suspicion of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, collaboration and high treason.
