It is crucial for Ukraine to implement all seven recommendations of the European Commission on its way to joining the EU, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening video address.

He has held a long meeting with diplomats, government officials, and parliament representatives on Ukraine's preparation for the European Council's political decision to start negotiations.

"We are working to get an unconditional decision to start negotiations. It is a matter of principle for Ukraine to implement all the recommendations of the European Commission, all seven recommendations, and to do what is necessary at this stage of our path to the European Union. The success of our state and people - economic, social, and success in the development of Ukraine's relations with the world - can only be a joint success of the whole of Europe," he said.

Zelenskyy added that for this purpose, "we are strengthening our institutions, our legislative norms".

As reported earlier, the European Commission officially recommends starting negotiations on Ukraine and Moldova's accession to the European Union. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that our country still needs to work on certain reforms, including fight against corruption.

Today it has become known that Luxembourg supports the start of EU membership negotiations with Ukraine.
