National Security Adviser to US President Joe Biden Jake Sullivan believes that the US and Chinese governments should have direct discussions on critical issues, including Russia's war against Ukraine and preventing arms supplies to Russia.

He said this before the planned meeting of the leaders of the United States and China, Ukrinform reports.

"The United States and China should be able to directly discuss all critical issues facing our two countries, including problems during crises such as the Russian-Ukrainian crisis," Sullivan said.

He noted that President Biden has already had a number of frank conversations with the Chinese president on the issue of military support for Russia.

At the same time, Sullivan described the US bilateral relations with China as "complex and competitive" and "could easily escalate into conflict or confrontation". Therefore, he said, it is necessary to manage this process.

At the same time, he noted that so far it has not been revealed that China has supplied weapons to Moscow after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At the same time, he noted that this information may be outdated, as it is based on data from several days ago.
