The European Union has provided Ukraine with €1.5 billion in macro-financial assistance. The money will be used to support economic stability. This was reported by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on X.
"Europe's funding has supported Ukraine's economic stability and public services since the start of Russia’s war.. Today we disburse a new €1.5 billion," she said in a statement.
The President of the European Commission added that in total, the EU's assistance to Ukraine has reached €85 billion.
"More will come. We have proposed €50 billion for Ukraine until 2027," she said.
