Ukraine's Defence Miniser Defence Rustem Umerov and Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin met US Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker.
According to the website of the Ministry of Defence, Umerov stressed that it is important for Ukraine to create opportunities to attract American industrial business. "In particular, we plan to set up joint production of weapons and equipment. We are working on this," the minister said.
Another priority discussed at the meeting was direct procurement from American companies.
"It is critical to provide our soldiers with the necessary weapons, including ammunition. An important focus is air defence. We are strengthening our capabilities," Umerov added, noting that creating a defence industry that matches the scale of the enemy's industrial capabilities is a matter of national security.
The Ministry of Defence has announced that it is establishing and launching a Defence Fund, which will become a direct partner for US companies in creating joint productions and products.
