The former director of a state-owned defence enterprise was served a notice of suspicion of embezzlement and forgery.
"According to the investigation, the state-owned enterprise was supposed to repair equipment used in SU-27 combat military aircraft," the prosecutor's office said.
According to law enforcement officers, the director of the company and his accomplices organised a fictitious purchase of a new power amplification module for military equipment.
In August 2023, they entered into an agreement with an individual entrepreneur for the alleged supply of components worth UAH 3.9 million. To cover up the illegal activity, the official instructed his subordinates to draw up an incoming inspection report for the equipment and issued a number of documents for payment.
In order to avoid financial monitoring, the funds were transferred to the supplier controlled by the individual entrepreneur in instalments. The amount of a single transfer did not exceed UAH 400,000.
The law enforcement exposed the illegal scheme and prevented the transfer of UAH 2 million of the contract amount, and the accounts of the business entity were seized.
During the searches, they seized equipment that, according to expert opinions, was in a faulty condition at the time of delivery.
