On the morning of 8 December 2023, Russia fired 19 cruise missiles at Ukraine.
These were X-101 and X-555 missiles. The air defence managed to destroy 14 missiles, Ukrayinska Pravda reported, citing Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force.
Later, the Air Force added that a total of seven aircraft from the Saratov region were involved, which had previously fired 19 air-launched cruise missiles.
"Some of the enemy missiles were aimed at infrastructure facilities in the Dnipro Region. Another group, having reached Dnipro, changed its direction towards Kyiv. As of 09.00, 14 out of 19 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles were destroyed in Dnipro and Kyiv Regions," the statement said.
