Parliament has adopted an address to EU member states and institutions to support the opening of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. This decision was voted for by 292 MPs, MP Iryna Herashchenko said.
Taking into account the support from the EU and its member states, the Ukrainian parliament is seeking support for the opening of negotiations on accession to the EU. The day before, two identical resolutions in support of European integration were registered in parliament.
"The Verkhovna Rada voted for this appeal calling on all Ukraine's friends in the EU to make every effort at a historic moment for our country to ensure that the European Council's decision to start accession negotiations is positive next week, on 14-15 December. The Verkhovna Rada has passed all the necessary bills to start negotiations. Ukraine is accelerating its strategic course towards joining the European Union," Herashchenko wrote.
